1917 bird illustrations

I love to support local libraries, so I always try to attend Friends of the Library sales. At the Fall sale this week, I found some treasures, including wonderful vintage books from a set called The Nature Library. My favorite is the volume on birds, with beautiful illustrations by R. E. Todhunter. Here are a few of the illustrations for you. (As always, personal use only, not for sale individually or in collections.)

Products I love for collage and art journaling

A wonderful box with 100 beautiful postcards featuring detailed bird illustrations. There are two birds on each card, so this gives you 200 images to use in collage projects, handmade cards or art journals. (Or -- you can use these as intended, as postcards!) My favorite journal. The pages are sturdy enough so that paint does not bleed through, and they have nice rounded corners. If you pack it full of glued layers and paint, the built-in closure holds the book together. This is the larger of two sizes; the smaller 6"x8" size is also great, especially for traveling. A very inspiring book! I love to work with vintage ephemera, and this book shows some gorgeous pages and with vintage pieces.
